School Information
Eligibility
Students are referred to the Madison County Alternative Excel School by local schools
in the county. These are students that have difficulty at their based school.
These are students that:
- Have failed two or more times in the previous years
- Have excessive referrals (continuous disruptive problems)
- Who are teen parents (mother and fathers)
- Have criminal charges and are a threat to their base school community.
Curriculum Features
Regular students will take the same basic courses; they were taking at their base
school via the A+LS computer program. Modifications will be made to accomodate special
needs on an individual basis.
Services Provided
- Free and reduced lunch for those who qualify
- Counseling services
- Mentoring services
- Transportation (teen parents will be picked up at their residence)
- Free daycare services for teen parents' children while the parents are enrolled
and attending school
